The rim rises and falls like a slow tide. Three orchid stems arch up and out of a hand-finished ceramic bowl, set low and wide. The pearl glaze catches the light and warms the room. Coco fibre and river stones finish the base.
The open flowers come first. The buds along each stem keep opening over the weeks after, so the gift keeps changing after it arrives.
